“This review started as a 2-star review at best. Upon getting our bags at baggage claim at the airport, I called to request the free shuttle to the hotel. Thean who answered asked what airline and then told me to go outside and wait near pole F. He said the driver would call me when he was on his way. As I walk out of the terminal through doors 311, there is a pole labeled F less than 100' to my left. My wife and I stand there waiting for about 20 minutes. No phone call, but I see the van with the hotel name drive right by. I call the hotel again and the same guy answers and connects me to the driver that says I'm at the wrong spot and I need to walk to the other F pole about a 1/4 mile away and he'll be back to get us and about 20 minutes because he now had passengers he needed to take to the hotel. I told him absolutely not, I'll get a cab and don't bother come back for us. Upon arrival from the hotel, we were greeted by Ashley at the front desk as we arrived around 10pm. I didn't know if Ashley had any control over the transportation process so I didn't want to let out my frustration on her so I simply explained what happened politely and with understanding and she shared it's a 3rd party service. However, Ashley went above and beyond to try to make the situation right. Because of Ashley, the hotel and our stay became a positive experience after a rough start. Marriott needs to figure out the transportation situation because not all employees will be as excellent as Ashley and it will cost them future business. Thank you, Ashley, for your kindness and professionalism.”
